TANCET 2010 ( Tamil Nadu Common Admission Test 2010) for the admission for PG courses(M.E/M.Tech/MBA/MCA) in Anna University and its affiliated colleges is usually held on April-May every year. This year the application dates have been announced for 2010 and the notification has been released.

Applications are invited for the TANCET 2010 to be conducted by Anna University Chennai on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu on 29th & 30th May 2010, from candidates who seek admission to 1. M.B.A., 2. M.C.A., and 3. M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch. / M.Plan. Degree Programmes in Tamil Nadu for the year 2010-2011 offered at University Departments of Anna University Chennai, Anna University Coimbatore, Anna University Trichy, Anna University Tirunelveli, Govt. Engineering, Arts and Science Colleges, Govt. Aided Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges, and Govt. Quota seats in self-financing Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges / stand alone Institutions. Some Universities and Self–Financing Engineering Colleges may also opt to admit the candidates on the basis of TANCET 2010.
Other State candidates can appear for the entrance test but, admission is subject to the eligibility conditions of the admitting authority / University.
ELIGIBILITY:
1. MBA: A pass in any recognised Bachelor’s degree with 10 + 2 + 3 or 4 years or a pass in any degree with 10 + 3 years diploma + 3 years pattern.
2. MCA: a) A pass in any recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration (10 + 2 + 3 / 4 years pattern) in any discipline with core Mathematics (or) Business Mathematics at +2 level or A pass in any recognised Bachelor’s degree with 10+3 years Diploma +3 years pattern with Mathematics at Diploma level or Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at the degree level or A pass in any recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration (10 + 2 + 3 pattern) in any discipline with Mathematics or Statistics as any one of the subjects.
3. M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan.: Details of the common eligibility criteria are available in the “Information & Instructions Booklet” for TANCET 2010 to be issued during Spot Registration and also in the website: www.annauniv.edu/tancet2010.
Those who are appearing for final year / semester examination of the above qualifying degree in April / May 2010 can also apply for TANCET 2010.
[Application Form is common for all the three entrance tests. Candidates have to submit only one application. The candidates have to pay a fee of Rs.300/- (Rs.150/- for SC / SCA / ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu on production of a copy of Permanent Community Certificate) as entrance test fee for any one of the Programmes either (1) M.B.A. or (2) M.C.A. or (3) M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./ M.Plan.
If a candidate desires to appear for more than one programme, for every additional programme, he / she has to pay Rs.300/- (Rs.150/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu).
REGISTRATION FOR THE ENTRANCE TEST
(1) SPOT REGISTRATION: Hall Tickets will be issued to the candidates who come in person to the following Co-ordinating Centres with a copy of 10th Std. mark sheet and 12th Std. mark sheet (or 3 years Diploma Certificate) and cash or Demand Draft (A single DD is sufficient for one or more programme) for the required amount towards Entrance Test fee.

Nokia siemens sends Admit Card to Shortlisted Candidates for NSN GET 2010 entrance exam which was recently announced.The registrations were open from 4th March to 11th March 2010.

The review procedure for the recently announced revaluation results of Nov/Dec 2009 are given below for both Grade system and Mark System

PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING FOR REVIEW
FOR STUDENTS:
1.Only candidates who have applied for the photocopy of the answer script are eligible for applying for review. There is no restriction on the MARK/GRADE obtained by the candidate.
2.
The answer script is to be valued and justified by a faculty member of the college, who handled the subject, and he/she should recommend for review with the breakup of marks for each question.
3.The application for review should be forwarded by the Principal along with the requisition of the student with proper justification of the faculty member concerned on or before 10-03-2010.
4.The fee for review is Rs.3,000/- and it should be paid in the form of demand draft drawn in favour of the Controller of Examinations, Anna University Chennai, Chennai – 25.
5.Grade System: If a candidate gets higher grade in review, the higher grade will be declared as the final grade. Only such candidates are eligible for refund of sum of Rs.3,000/-.
6.Mark System: If a candidate gets a higher mark in review, the higher mark obtained in review will be declared as the final mark. Refund of sum of Rs.3,000/- will be made only to
a)The candidates who have failed originally and obtained pass mark after review.
b)The candidates who have passed already and obtained an increase of 5 or more marks after review.
7.The refund will be made to the candidate through the Principal of the College in the form of demand draft drawn in the name of the candidate.
FOR COLLEGE:
1.The Principals are requested to forward only the genuine representations of the candidates who have obtained the photocopy of the answer script to the Controller of Examinations for further review.
2.The last date for forwarding the review request is 12-03-2010.

After announcing TNSLPP for Coimbatore and Madurai Zone, Anna University has announced TNSLPP for Chennai zone affiliated colleges of anna university for 2010 passing out students..
The details are as follows:
Anna University, Chennai is organizing Tamil Nadu State Level Placement Programme 2009-10 (TNSLPP), for the Present Final Year (2010 Passing Out) Students Studying in Self Financing Engineering Colleges of Tamil Nadu.
M/s Cognizant Technology Solution, has kindly agreed to participate in this Placement programme on 1st & 2nd March, 2010 for Chennai Zone. Centre for University Industry Collaboration,Anna University Chennai is conducting this programme at Saveetha Engineering College, Chennai -Bangalore Highway, Saveetha Nagar, Thandalam (Post), Sriperumbudur (Taluk), Kancheepuram District – 602 105 (CHENNAI ZONE) for the 2010 Passing Out Students.
As per the eligible criteria, the Final year students of B.E. / B.Tech. (CSE, ECE, EEE, EIE,ICE & IT) with an average of 80% and above from I Semester to VII Semester will be considered for this recruitment programme. It is mandatory that all the students should secure an average of 60% and
above marks consistently in their (10th & Plus 2). I am sending herewith the list of eligible students as per the VI Semester marks, but I request the principal to consolidate the list as per the VII Semester marks and the same has to be certified by them. It is requested that the Principal / Placement Officers of the College should verify the marks of the students and certify their eligibility to attend the campus
placement.
All the eligible candidates have to pay one time Registration fee of Rs. 750/- (Rupees seven hundred and fifty only) each in the form of a Demand draft drawn in favour of “The Director, CUIC, Anna University Chennai” payable at Chennai. Candidates should submit the ANNEXURE II form along
with the Demand Draft to the CUIC Staff Members camped at Saveetha Engineering College,Chennai on 01.03.2010 at the time of registration.
The Principals / Placement Officers are requested to direct all the candidates who have been short listed as per the above criteria (As per Annexure – I) and satisfies the terms and conditions
mentioned in Annexure – II to report at Saveetha Engineering College, Chennai on 01.03.2010 at 7.30 a.m.

REVALUATION PROCEDURE
JANUARY- 2010 EXAMINATIONS
1. All the candidates irrespective of the MARKS/GRADE secured in the University Examinations can apply for Revaluation.
2.To apply, a student can opt for any one of the following two options:
Option 1: Apply for Revaluation only with a fee of Rs.400/- per script.
Option 2: Apply for Photocopy–cum–Revaluation with a fee of Rs.700/- per script.
3.Only Candidates who have applied for Photocopy-cum-Revaluation are eligible for the Review for their answer script (by remitting the prescribed fee) only after the Publication of the Revaluation Results, if not satisfied with the revalued results. Those who have applied only for Revaluation are not eligible for the review of their answer scripts. The details of the Review Procedure will be announced along with their revaluation results.
4.Photocopying and Revaluation work are being carried out simultaneously. If any discrepancy is noticed in the valuation after getting the Photocopy, the same may be brought to the notice of the Controller of Examinations through their respective Colleges within 3 days from the date of receipt of the Photocopy.
5.Separate application has been prescribed for Revaluation and Photocopy-cum-Revaluation. The applications may be obtained from the Office of the Principal of the College.
The last date for applying for Revaluation is 26-02-2010 and the students can apply from 18-02-2010 onwards
